BMW E63 M6

The BMW E63 M6 was launched in 2006, two years after the introduction of the BMW 6-Series, and 23 years after the previous 'M' derivative of the 6-Series.

The E63 M6 shares many of the same features and technology as the BMW E60 M5, including the 5.0 litre V10 engine and the SMG III gearbox. The M6 matches the M5's performance figures taking only 4.1 seconds to travel from 0-62mph and managing 206 mph when the electronic limiter has been deactivated.

To keep weight down the M6 utilises a carbon fibre reinforced plastic roof, aluminium doors and bonnet, and a compound boot.

In 2007 a convertible M6 was introduced to the range.
